Pearl Romance

Thierry’s love for French Polynesia, where he spent his adolescence, compels us to discover the world’s most beautiful lagoons. It all began in 1993, at Ahe (Tuamotu), on a pearl farm where manager, Thierry, intensified his research and cultivation efforts in the hopes of creating the most beautiful pearls. He gathered and harvested the oysters from spat collectors, used ecologically-safe cleaning methods, grafted and re-grafted the oysters, and even selected the colours. Over a period of five years I watched him making the first grafting cuts and participated in the selection process, already envisioning the end-product. And then one day, exceptional pearls emerged… our pearls. After personally collecting the oysters, maturing them, and selecting the pearls, we moved on to the final step: promoting our pearls. Skilfully combining my creative sketches and drawings with Thierry’s bold settings and piercings, we created our treasures of necklaces, rings, earrings, and pendants to showcase in Moorea.
